Robertson & Montgomery County in TN receive Birthday Cake Pans
68 TOTAL BIRTHDAY CAKE PAN KITS DONATED IN OUR COMMUNITY ALL TOGETHER!
For the past three years Miss Joni and Characters of Character celebrate her birthday by giving back into the communities of Robertson County and Montgomery Counties in Tennessee. Characters of Character hosts a fundraiser to receive the items need to fulfill a cake pan to be donated. This year Miss Joni turned 67 and that’s the number of Birthday Cake Pans that were donated! Above is a photo with Mana Cafe in Montgomery County and they were excited to receive 28 Birthday Cake Pans and we were excited to deliver them!
Food pantries are in need of items to stock their shelved and a few years ago we discovered the need and appreciaiton of these pans. One location shared that there are so many families that go without a Birthday celebration because they just don’t have the means for a birthday cake, and that made us sad. Each one of us deserves to be celebrated on our Birthday and so that’s what we will do from here on out! The locations may change, but the donation will remain the same. We also donated 20 Birthday cake pans to the Robertson County to the senior citizen pantry at the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church in White House, TN. and another 20 to United Ministries Food Bank of Robertson County.
This year we aimed to fulfill 67 completed birthday cake pan kits in honor of Miss Joni's 67th birthday & we were able to fulfill 68 boxes! Plus we donated the extra cake mixes which were also a huge hit!
Each kit costs in the ballpark range of $8 - $10 per unit so this is a big deal to be able to fulfill so many. They were SO appreciated this year & we look forward to sharing more about the feedback that we received from the 3 locations we were able to support. We think this would be a nice activity for college or high school students to do within their own community and show them the need and appreciation for service. They really are easy to put together, all you need is perseverance and time. The first time we did this we had a drop off location in our community which worked out well. There was even a local business that donated about 20 that they put together with the help of their employees! This year we put together a Wish List on Amazon and the items were delivered directly to our home which is where we fulfilled the pans.
Items you will need:
9 × 12 cake pan
cake mix
frosting
one can of sprite (this takes the place of an egg and oil)
saran wrap
birthday candle
birthday paper plates and napkins
throw in some horns or birthday trinkets
We did a quantity of 6 in each pan, you can choose to do what you want to. These are just a lovely idea to bring into a pantry and share some joy to families in your community. Last year we had a high school student in Minnesota do this project for his community!
