Nashville Predators Helper Grant Awarded!
What an honor, what a thrill to receive a Nashville Predators HELPER Grant this year! It actually began in 2021 when Characters of Character received a grant from the Predators Foundation to bring our Superhero Character building activity boxes to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Since this time we have also donated to Fort Campbell Army Base and to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt through their grants!
About Helper Grants
In 2022, the Preds Foundation renamed their grants program to Helper Grants after former Preds Senior VP & Advisor Gerry Helper. Helper retired after 40-plus years in the NHL, including 24 with Nashville, where he ended his career as Preds Foundation Chairman of the Board.
This year, 2025 there were 190 nonprofit organizations who gathered at the Bridgestone Arena to receive their funds to impact the communities of Nashville! Check out the list here.
If you would like to help us bring additional Superhero books and masks to Fort Campbell Army base, visit our Wish List here.
Characters of Character will donate 50 Superhero Character Building activity boxes to Fort Campbell this year through their grant from the Nashville Predators HELPER Grant. In the past we have had the opportunity to bring them to the staff to share with their children and families who are extremely appreciative of these activities to build confidence, respect and engage children and youth in character building lessons. This is what they had to share last year after engaging students with the boxes and we look forward to continue our impact this year! Thank you HELPER Grants!
The Nashville Predators are sincerely and truly all about community. We have watched them grow in their grant giving, we had the opportunity to attend a hockey game and were so impressed with their engagement to support our children and youth in Middle Tennessee! The ol’ cliche’ of, “It takes a village” has never been more accurate in these changing times. We are all raising the future leaders of tomorrow and the more we can pour into their foundation of growth, of making good choices and of allowing them to build a firm foundation of values, the better off our future will be, for all of us. That’s my opinion, that’s my story and I’m sticken to it!!
