When you have passion your imagination grows! Have you met the Characters of Character yet? Earning a National Promising Practice Award in 2005, formed a 501(c)(3)non-profit in 2007, brought the characters to life in costume, published over 30 books, touched the hearts of thousands of children and families with the character messages. In today's world, nothing is 'normal' or how we once knew it, so, we developed Character Corner for you to have at your disposal, FREE character building lessons, activities and ideas to help teach your own children the meaning of character. Through the years we have met and continue to meet very appreciative people of what we've created here at Characters of Character. We're here for you, to support you, to inspire you and to teach your children the importance, the simplicity and the most rewarding feeling of having good character, doing the right thing, making good choices and being a role model. Nobody said it would be easy, but, we know it needs to be done. It's really quite interesting the older I get, I have become braver and stronger in so many areas of my life. One of which are the Characters of Character. When I can remove myself from the discussion, my passion just shines! While I created these characters, they are not about me, they are about how they impact, enrich and empower our children, their family, communities and so much more. Because we have not had the opportunity to actually meet, I do think it's important that you know who I am, or at least a little bit about my character in general. That is the reason I'm sharing what others have had to say. March is my birthday, I'm hosting a fundraiser on Facebook to raise money so we can fulfill as many Superhero Activity Boxes that we can to donate to Children's Hospitals in Tennessee and in Texas. Our cost is $20.00 to do so. Each box is sturdy, colorful and includes our Superhero Activity Book, crayons, watercolors, paintbrush, a canvas that says I AM SUPER for the child to paint, an easel to display it on, a laminated character lanyard, superhero sticker, superhero felt mask and a hand written letter from one of the characters. Delivered to the hospitals which gift them to the child patient. They are loved and appreciated and especially needed. Please share our projects, become a sponsor or donate to them, together we WILL make a difference. Some of you may read these and think, 'she sure is full of herself' and let me assure you, nothing could be further from the truth. When I created the characters it began with the thrill and excitement and then the fear of forming an organization. Through the years I've learned to remove myself out of the characters, it's not about me, it's about the important messages that each of the characters have to say, how they say it and the invaluable activities and lessons that they each provide to build character in our children, making the world a better place. As I continue to learn and grow with the Characters of Character, it's important to share what others have learned and how they have grown along with us! I encourage you to visit us online to meet us! Our organization has developed resources to help families and communities, especially during the Pandemic when we can't be at physical locations right now, we still need these messages to be heard, for children to meet the characters and there is no better way than through art and literacy! That's just my opinion of course :) Check out Character Corner for some easy, engaging and empowering character building lessons and activities, soon. I apologize in advance for the Covid Hair, I didn't care, I needed to get these activities to you to help you reinforce these valuable and vital traits in our children. If you click on the image it will take you to the project. We never know who is reading or needing this or the messages we provide. As a small nonprofit, every post, every creation, every video, every blog, every story, every project, every communication is done through volunteer time and dedication to get these characters into the hearts of our children and to provide resources for others so that together, we can make the world better. We hope you'll share our information and allow others to empower and engage their families and friends in character building lessons soon! Thank you, Joni
