ON Gratitude Day #10 I am grateful for my ability to just breathe, bring myself to a calm and either continue with a task, or, take in the view. During November, coming to my computer first thing in the morning does bring me a calmness. I know I'm going to share an idea, a thought and focus on my gratitude. While for some, mornings can be quite hectic, getting the kids ready for school, getting yourself ready for work, the gym, a meeting, etc. It's important to take on the day in a calm voice, a calm frame of mind, a calmness which will begin your day on a grateful note.
There are so many ways to bring calm into your life. I've done the hectic mornings, running the kids here and there, I've been a Scout Leader, a Room Mom, a Gym Mom, Volunteered for so many events, held a job, created this organization and would not change a thing. But, this chapter in my life allows me to begin my day in calm. Do your best, because YOU are awesome, it's all you can do, but, remember, your children are certainly admiring you! Above is Self-Esteem Elephant, one of the nine Characters of Character. This character teaches our children about confidence and to become aware of who they are, what they can do and who they want to become. For me, when there is calm, I can better focus my energy to where it is my day will begin. Today, I AM starting my day in calm, enjoying my coffee and appreciate you being here.
Find your calm. Is it a hobby? Is it a favorite drink? Is it talking to a spouse or friend? Is it a certain view? Is it taking a walk? Is it snuggling with your pet? Find your calm as this will bring you so much gratitude and awareness of the beauty that surrounds you.
So, back to being grateful during the month of November, I encourage you to write down one thing every day that you are grateful for. This will refresh your memory, this will give you a positive mindset, this will build healthy habits and remind you that there is so much to be grateful for.
P.S. I sincerely hope that you take time to write down at least one thing that you are grateful for each day this month, and, that you notice the impact it has on your mindset. Stay tuned for future posts as I will share some ways to involve your children in these simple tasks, too!
