Character Corner Characters of Character is aware of the changing times these days. We've decided that starting tomorrow, Joni will do live videos so the children can spend time coloring and being creative. These may be challenging times for so many with their children home for a long period of time as our stress levels might be heightened. Let's try to keep some normalcy in our lives and stay calm. Together we will get through this. Here are some others you might like shared to me from Ruth Elliott, thank you! 1- Wash your hands with Healthy Hippo: 2- Check it out this Free Survival Kit to keep the kids busy 3- The Childrens book author Mo Willems is now doing a daily doodle for kids. https://www.kennedy-center.org/education/mo-willems 4- free cartoons: https://www.kabillion.com/ As much as I wish I could hold classes and invite all the children to join me, we know that's not an option. Therefore, every day I'll color one of the characters which you can print out for your children to engage with me. We're calling it CHARACTER CORNER and it will be on our website tomorrow for you to download daily. Please have crayons, markers, or colored pencils available for your children or if they want to paint the activity they certainly can. This is an opportunity to reinforce these important character values at home. Feel free to allow your children to share their art work with me! I also encourage you to let your children write letters to their favorite character at anytime. With a self addressed stamped envelope the characters will write back to your child! Let's become Pen Pals. This activity enhances communication, literacy, writing skills and helps children to think about what the trait means. Friendly reminder that each of the characters has their own page, from this page you can print out a coloring page to use as a sticker chart or a journal cover. A great activity and encouragement while we're all at home. Together we will get through this chapter as we make history in 2020. Please be kind, please don't judge others opinions and please wash your hands!
