It's not messy, it's fun! I've been teaching the Characters of Character through art and the kids and parents love them!
When was the last time you got creative with or without your child? Go ahead and get some washable paints and make some memories and art.
Try reading a story with your child and then let them paint and draw a story about their story on canvas or on paper. It's a fun way to story tell and be creative.
Feel free to share your art work with us at anytime! Maybe you have a favorite Characters of Character and want to paint them, show us! We'll share them on our website!
After this class at a local library about Manners Monkey. A parent sent me an email to share that her daughter wanted to learn about more polite words in her native language.
Today, many schools encourage children to learn a second language. This is a fun way to introduce polite words and engage the child to learn them, like Manners Monkey.
After your story and discussion, let your child get creative. Creativity has many different mediums, art, drama, writing, etc. Let your child find their creative way.

Children's Imagination is Important to Develop
Picture
I am a big fan of imagination and creativity. As a matter of fact, this Holiday Season while at Walmart with my daughter, I did it. I put on the Grinch and we both laughed. Children need an outlet for laughter, too. Using their imagination brings out their creativity, if it's through art,
through story telling or drama. Let them express themselves.  I found this article which you might enjoy reading. Click here

Children's Fashion
Picture
Children's fashion is always up to the parent, after all, they are the ones who are buying their clothes and dressing them for everyday and special occasions. I liked this blog on Kids Fashion and think you'll enjoy it, too. Click here. However, I'd like to chime in and say, that when a child dresses them self, if their socks don't match, or their pants are to short, it's really alright, they tried, redirect them in a positive fashion to encourage them to keep dressing them self. I also have found fabulous finds at Resale shops. After all, kids grow out of their clothes at lightning speed and the items are like bran new at these shops. I suggest finding one in your community and to check it out. You'll love what you find and how you save money and still dress your child fashionable.

Characters of Character hope you'll follow us, share us and inspire us with your stories and paintings with your kids!

This summer was filled with fun painting classes through out our community, even a local library:
Dear Ms.Downey,
"Super thanks for the great program you gave to all kids at Vernon Area Public Library today! My daughter learnt a lot and cannot stop discussing with me topics of good manners on our way home. She also asked me how to say all polite words in our native language. And she just hung the manners chart on her room. I really appreciate all positive impetus you promoted." Ivy Liu

"Great program for kids. Joni is amazing with kids, and so positive. I wish more kids would experience Character of Characters." Bet Mondroski

While I wish I could tell stories and paint with every child, it's just not realistic! We have published over 30 books to help parents, teachers, and communities teach vital core values to our children. This is what a recent review from The Old School House Magazine had to say about us:
 https://www.theoldschoolhouse.com/product-reviews/?rid=6920
I love the idea of your characters and the values they teach our children.  This sounds like a great class for a homeschool co-op!  I also love how the reviewer pointed out this could be a full year idea.  Thank you for offering  the posters and decorations, as I can totally relate to the reviewer regarding decorating a classroom.  It is so nice when the ideas are included for you!

You can purchase our books on Amazon here.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Today my 5 year old and I met the Behavior Bear (who was very sweet) in a special program at our library. We also painted a creative picture and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with Joni’s kindness, patience & creativity. Great experience for both parent & child. ❤️

What an amazingly fun evening we had with Joni!! My 4th and 5th grade Girl Scouts had such fun making their snowmen!! Joni was great with the girls, she explained every step and helped the girls if they were having a hard time. Joni is very encouraging, patient and helped boost confidence!!
