Characters of Character has created a unique and engaging way to allow children to understand and internalize nine core values.  Each trait corresponds with a Character.  All of our Characters are now 'alive' in costume and available for children to meet at community events and school visits.  To learn more about each Character, click on the Character's photo.

                                                  Behavior Bear

                                                  Teaching children to behave
Behavior Bear teaches children the meaning of good behavior.  Portraying appropriate behavior helps prevent distractions for others.  If negative behaviors are not addressed at an early age, the child will grow up to believe that those actions are appropriate and continue depicting them throughout life.

                                                  Do'er Duck

Teaching children to never give up
Do'er Duck teaches children the importance of never giving up.  If a child is taught at an early age that giving up is okay, they will not pursue their goals later on in life.  If a child believes that they can give up and someone else will complete the task for them, they will never learn responsibility for themselves and always rely on someone else to do things for them.  Perseverance also teaches someone how to deal with rejection, allowing that person to develop coping skills to be able to deal with life when it gets difficult.

Friendship Frog teaches children the meaning of being a good friend.  Friendship helps to establish social skills, eliminates prejudice by creating understanding, and helps to create a mutual respect for all beings.  It also helps others to realize the importance of honesty, and understanding the importance of relationships with others to live a happy and healthy life.

                                                  Healthy Hippo

                                                  Healthy Habits
Healthy Hippo teaches children how to take care of their mind and body properly.  Teaching healthy habits early on builds the foundation for better decision making later on in life.  If you know the importance of keeping your body, and mind, in top shape, and see the positive effects making good choices are, you will want to continue on that path as you continue to grow.  Healthy decisions will begin to be made without having to think about them, it will become habit to exercise daily or choose a healthy snack over a sugary one.

                                                  Respectful Rabbit

                                                  Teaching respect to children
Respectful Rabbit teaches children how to respect themselves, others, and the world around them.  Respect is important in every aspect of life.  Respecting yourself builds a positive self image, giving someone the confidence to stand behind what they believe in.  If others don’t respect you, you will become an easy target and maintain a low self image.

                                                  Self-Esteem Elephant

                                                  Building self esteem in children
Self-Esteem Elephant teaches children to take pride in themselves and everything that they do. Having high self-esteem can promote a strong work ethic and open up more opportunities, better friendships, standing up for what you believe in, and not letting your flaws get the best of you.  Having low self-esteem can lead to bullying, because you become an easy target for others, and never having the confidence to reach your goals or take opportunities that you are given.  Low self-esteem can also lead to others not wanting to be your friend because a negative attitude and lack of confidence can damper the mood and bring others down as well.

                                                  Warm-Hearted Walrus

Teaching children to be kind and never to be a bully
Warm-Hearted Walrus teaches children the meaning of kindness, and how to deal with bullies. Kindness promotes a positive attitude, encouraging others to be happy and feel good about themselves.  It also gives someone the ability to help others when they have not stood up for themselves, builds high self-esteem, prevents serious social issues like suicide, opens someone up to being helped by other, creates better communication and a positive work environment, and eliminates and prevents future crimes by instilling remorse in others for negative behavior.
