About Me
I have worked in the field of education for about twelve years. First, I began as a room mother for my children in the elementary grades where I helped in the classroom, school functions and also did the monthly bulletin board. I was a Cub Scout leader for our oldest son. Worked in the Jr. High School lunch room with our second son. Next, I was a classroom assistant for a contained classroom of elementary school aged boys. I then taught summer school for a Private School. From there, I became an inclusion aide for a handicapped student.
Today, I am a Literacy Instructional Assistant in an elementary school where I spend most of my day in the kindergarten and first grade classrooms. I am a published author for the title, "Will You Be My Friend, We Really Are No Different" Published with Place in the Woods. The newspapers recognized my program five times in 2005 in different articles. Also, I won the National Schools of Character Promising Practice Award for my program. I have been working on my program for a number of years, and I hope to continue teaching character to children.
My children are Joey, Joshua, and Jennifer. I've been married to Joe for 25 years. To me, the best gift you can give a child is your time. There are no words to describe the feeling you get when you know you've put a smile on a childs face. Now theres a gift worth giving and receiving!
