Current Projects:

Our main focus right now is creating a facility for children and their families to come to learn more about character. We will encourage parents to bring their children (most likely once a week) to discuss a character trait and do an art activity to go along with that trait. As all our of characters are now in costume we also plan to have them create their very own play which they can perform for their friends & families. We are currently looking for a location in the Chicago-land area where we can establish a relationship with the surrounding communities.
In May we will be participating in a craft show in Northern Illinois. We will be there offering information about our program and what we do as well as selling teacher gifts. More details will be available closer to the date.
We are also working on an up and coming school event to introduce Respectful Rabbit. We will be presenting the school with our individual Respect Rabbit program, bring Respectful Rabbit in costume & hold discussions with the students about what it means to be respectful. If you are interested in Joni & her characters coming to your school please contact us.
Our first book is sitting with a few publishers. If you missed the news Target provided us with a grant to create a children's book regarding our characters. It was written by Joni & Joe Downey and illustrated by their son Josh. We hope to have more information available soon regarding the book and when it will be in a store near you.
Future Projects:

We have many plans & goals in our future. Here are a few:
-Raising funds or having a reliable vehicle donated to Characters of Character. In order to travel across the country and lower the traveling costs we need a new vehicle and trailer to attach. The trailer will allow us to bring our characters in costume along with us as well as materials for school functions and events.
-One of our biggest goals is to allow teachers and schools to have our character education programs donated to them, not purchased by them. We are working on a way to make this happen but we cannot reach this goal without your help. You can view our Wishes at MTDN here to see if you are able to help.
If you have any questions we encourage you to contact us.
