We just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that checked out the contest and entered, especially all you international fans.  You guys are truly amazing and thank you for making this a great experience.  Unfortunately we could only choose two winners, we wish we could have picked a few more though!  The winners were Kimberly T. and Sayra S.

Characters of Character has been fortunate enough to receive a signed poster & hat from Kellan Lutz!  We cannot say thank you enough for the generous donation and have to say a special thank you to the wonderful people at IA.    (Characters of Character is in no way affiliated with Kellan Lutz.)

Here are the contest details (we reserve the right to change the rules at any time):
-The contest ends September26th.  All donations must be submitted by September26th at 11:59 pm.  The winner will be picked and announced on September 27th.
-Entering is simple.  For every $1 donation your name will be entered one time.  You can donate as much as you'd like and there is no limit on how many times your name will be entered. (For example, a $1 donation gives you one entry.  A $10 donation gives you ten entries)
-Donations can be made through our website.  Paypal should ask for all of your information (email, name and address) but if for any reason it does not prompt you to do so please email Jenny with your information right away with the amount of your donation and your name.  After we receive your donation you will be emailed a confirmation with the amount of times your name will be entered.  If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours of your donation please contact Jenny. 
-TWO winners will be chosen.  The first name chosen will win the signed poster.  The second name will win the signed hat.  You do NOT need to be located in the US to enter/win.

Your donations will go directly to our latest project, Character on the Road!  In 2011 we plan to take our character education program on the road through the United States.  We will be donating to about 12,500 students which include:

-            a complete character education program to their school or facility
-           school supplies, (which include notebooks, a box of tissue, a backpack, and more)
-          we will do an art project with the students among other activities
-           our characters will be in costume for students to meet in person.

You can also help Characters of Character by simply searching the web.  It does not cost you a thing, there is nothing to install, and it only takes a few minutes of your time.  Simply go to GoodSearch.com, type in ‘Characters of Character’ as the charity, hit verify, and search.  That’s it.  You’ve just earned about one penny for Characters of Character.  There’s no limit how many times you can search so please use the site as often as possible!  Don’t forget to tell your family and friends as well.

Today was an extremely fun day for Characters of Character!  We were invited to be interviewed at Radio Disney in Chicago, Illinois.  As soon as we have a date and time we will let everyone know when you can tune in to hear our interview.  A special thank you to Adam & the crew at Radio Disney who found our cause worthy enough to highlight during their segment.

Later this week we will be posting our Chili's coloring contest so if you're in the McHenry, Illinois area be sure to print out a few for October!

If you are a fan of the band Sugarland continue checking our site!  In November we will be hosting a raffle where you can win a giant Sugarland bundle that includes a signed picture!  We cannot thank Sugarland enough for their generous donation.  More details to come.

As you probably know we have been working hard these last few years to make our character education program the most beneficial to facilities around the globe.  Our program has undergone some major changes this last year, but we know that you will find the changes to be positive ones. 

In the future we will be working on our project, Character on the Road!  You can find out more information here.  The project will help approx. 12,500 students, providing them with school supplies, as well as our character education program.  Every dollar helps & we cannot say thank you enough for your continued support.

We are also trying to make our website more classroom & home interactive.  We will be adding stories with activities to followup as well as more games to our website.  If you have suggestions please don't hesitate to contact us.

We are also working on program donations.  If you have a facility in need please email Jenny with your information.  We will work in your community to raise donations for a program donation. 

Characters of Character will also be offering more free coloring pages!  We are currently working on Halloween pages & activities for Kindness Day coming up in November, so be sure to keep checking back!  And don't forget to use GoodSearch for Characters of Character.  Every search earns us a penny and those donations can add up quickly if enough people use the search engine.

After the Lisle Eyes to the Skies event we made a new site, you can find here, that has our basic coloring page available for printing.  We are currently working on some basic activities to add to that website.

If you don't already know Characters of Character is working hard at traveling the US with our characters & being able to donate school supplies (and more)  to over 12,500 students.  We are also trying to establish a continuous flow of donations so that we are able to donate our character education programs to school and facilities who are in need of our program the most.  To find out more about donations please click here, to find out more about Character on the road click here.

What you need to know:

• We can't do this without your help.  Don't fret about getting out your checkbook.  There are plenty of ways you can help without giving a penny of your own money.  Just visit the website for ways to help by searching online, among other things.
• We will be donating our character education program to over 25 communities for FREE
• Every community we visit will receive school supplies for about 500 students.  We're working on adding backpacks to the list.  That's about 12,500 children who will benefit from our trip throughout the US!
  
• If we don't come up with the funding by 2011 we will continue until we do. 
  
• You can help us choose where we visit by filling out the suggestion form
• Our characters will be appearing in costume
• We will teach at least one trait during each visit with an art project, where we provide all the supplies

Your donations will help us raise funds for a new vehicle so that we are able to travel across the US with our characters & visit various communities.  We are also working towards opening a facility where children and their families can come to learn more about character.  We will encourage parents to bring their children (most likely once a week) to discuss a character trait and do an art activity to go along with that trait.  As all of our characters are now in costume we also plan to have the children create their very own play which they can perform for their family & friends in the community.  Older children/teenagers will be encouraged to become mentors to the children that visit our facility.  We are currently looking for a location in the Chicago-land area where we can establish a relationship with the surrounding communities.

Characters of Character

Last night I ventured off to the Bobby Long show in Dekalb, Illinois.  I will say, it was quite the adventure.  I need to give a VERY SPECIAL thank you to Bobby's tour manager Eric!  If it weren't for him we would have never been able to get the album signed.

In the next few weeks we will have details available on how you could win an autographed copy of 'Dangerous Summer Tour' by Bobby Long!  Out of all three albums that were available this was the one that Eric recommended so I'm taking his word on it being good. :)  You can listen to a little bit of Bobby's music here.
